Mission: A Day In The Life...
Location: SB lounge

Hilea picked up her dufflebag and walked off the Yridian transport. Not even allowed the dignity of arriving in a Romulan transport, much less a Naval vessel that befit her rank. Her own people tossing her aside like so much trash they couldn't bear to look at. Still she knew her own worth even if the fools that conjured up this nightmare assignment didn't.

Several years of combat, including major battles in the Dominion war left their own invisible scars on Hilea's psyche. She passed many other races, a major change from her time on Romulus. Even in the war, there were only a handful of races. This was cultural overload for Hilea.

She posted a bar, recognizable nearly anywhere in the galaxy and walked in. The dark interior suited her mood. Selecting a seat that allowed a view of everything around her, she perused the menu for something to soothe her emotional turmoil.

Ben was excited. It was clear to anyone watching the young pilot move through the room in his over chair. The violet skinned fly-boy all but beamed. If he was able to, he might have even been bouncing to the music. He found a table and ordered a refreshingly cold, non-alcoholic drink. "This'll be great!" He said to no-one in particular. He looked around, seeing a woman sat nearby looking slightly out of sorts. "You ok?" He asked.

She ignored the purple man while ordering a glass of Kali-fal. Hard to believe it was on the menu. Turning to talk to the young man, she said, "I find it hard to believe you are interested in my well-being. More than likely, you have other motives. Why would you involve yourself in the affairs of others so...randomly?" Hilea asked.

If Ben was taken aback, he didn't show it. "Other motives..? Oh right. Naah, nothing like that. You looked a bit out of sorts so just thought I'd see if you were ok." He took a sip of his drink. "Ben Carsassis, genral, all-round awesome fly-boy, at your service." His grin widened.

"Boy is fair approximation. You are too bubbly. " Her drink came, she waved a small instrument over it and it blinked twice. Sipping it tentatively, she wasn't impressed but it was better than she expected it to be. "Sit down or go away. You're making me nervous and that is NOT a good idea." Hilea responded.

If he had any reaction to being called a 'boy', it didn't even register on his face or his mannerisms. He'd been called far, far worse in his time. To get under his skin, someone would have to try a lot harder than that. When she told him to sit down or go away, he looked at his hover chair, then back at the woman, "sorry, can't help being me. Some people like it, some don't. I don't get punched for it too much these days," he said, grinning.

"My apologies. I did not intend to belittle your affliction. I am Lieutenant t"Rehu. I am supposed to report for some odd new team."

Ben shrugged, "No offense taken, Lieutenant and it's a pleasure to meet you." He didn't try to pronounce the name. That would take practice. "If you're talking about Team 6, I'm their pilot. I can show you where they live, if you like. I just came from there. I'm trying to locate the pilot's hangout. Every station has one and I don't want to live in the Mess Hall."

"You...are an odd one purple boy. I won't go as far to say I like you, but I don't dislike you, and that is a start. She almost flashed a smile." Draining the Kali-fal in almost one shot and nearly regretting it, Hilea had a reaction similar to eating a large dose of wasabi.

She slammed her hand on the table to take the edge of as she stood up. "Please show me the way. Maybe we can find thing pilot's sanctuary together. "

Ben nodded and moved his chair off to show his new friend where the team lived.

Hilea grabbed her duffle and followed down the corridor.
